Gather
We put out a call for submissions via our social media, email, and a public event. This allows us to field questions, and bounce around ideas.
REVIEW & EDIT
A team of editors meets to review submissions in an editorial process that helps put together themes, motifs, and ideas for the next issue. Then, they suggest edits to those accepted. These edits are not usually conditional.
DEVELOP
We start putting all the work together in an easy to read print format and getting ready to print..

Annual subscriptions open after Issue 1 ships. Two issues per year, delivered to your door each spring and fall. If you want to be the first to know when subscriptions open, subscribe to join the waitlist below.

The Land Almanac is a biannual print journal rooted in the fields, forests, and waters of Pennsylvania. Each issue covers outdoor adventure, regenerative agriculture, land stewardship, and the science and myth-making that connects people to the land around them. Made in Lancaster. Designed to keep.
Issue 1 ships Fall 2025. This is your chance to be part of it before it exists. Founding readers get their name in the masthead permanently: the people who showed up before there was proof.
Founding reader includes:
- One print copy of Issue 1 delivered to your door
- Permanent founding reader credit in the Issue 1 masthead
- First access to Issue 2 subscriptions when they open
- Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to accept returns. All sales are final. We hope to add this in upcoming issues.
